Welcome to canine musical freestyle

in Northern California!

Canine musical freestyle is a wonderful, fun dog sport where moving to music showcases the bonding between handler and dog.  Some people think of this as dancing with dogs.  Redwood Empire Doggy Dancers (REDD) is a small club in Northern California.  Our members live in Sonoma County, Marin County, Humboldt County, the San Francisco East Bay and the San Francisco South Bay. We organize freestyle titling competitions and workshops in Santa Rosa and other Bay Area locations.  Club members get together throughout the year to help each other train movements and choreograph routines.

Musical Freestyle is a choreographed musical program performed by handlers and their dogs. The object of musical freestyle is to display the dog and handler in a creative, innovative and original dance, using music and intricate movements to showcase teamwork, artistry, costuming, athleticism and style in interpreting the theme of the music.

We are a World Canine Freestyle Organization (WCFO) club.

Some of our REDD members teach freestyle lessons and classes.  For information on freestyle lessons and classes, contact Laurie Rubin (707) 829-7950.
